Heading to week 3

I'm heading into week 3 starting today! I weighed in this morning for a 1 pound loss. At first I was disappointed, but then I said to myself "It's better than a 1 pound gain". I also had to remember that I only walked twice this week and I had Chick-fil-a a LOT this week. Due to lots of freebie because of a one year anniversary.
This week I hope to get more exercise in. As the following week we will be on vacation and I plan to enjoy my vacation and not worry too much about what I'm eating. I do plan on walking a lot on vacation though.
I also must remember that I've lost a total of 7.2 pounds and the first 6.2 was the first week I did Weight Watchers which isn't that normal:)
Week 3 is off to a good start though!

Goals

During a weight loss journey I've been told it's good to write out goals. This morning after stepping on the scale and finding that I've lost 6.2 pounds this week (go me!) I was pumped to write out my goals. In the past I've written down goals and rewards. Today though I've just written down my goals. Here they are:

16lbs gone by Sept 2nd (206)

24lbs gone by Oct 1st (198..wonderland..can't wait)

32lbs gone by Nov. 1st (190)

40lbs gone by Dec. 1st (182)

50lbs gone by Jan 1st (172 this was me before having Addison, my 4th)

58lbs gone by Feb 1st (164)

64lbs gone by March 1st (156)

74lbs gone by April 1st (146) May stop here

82lbs gone by May 1st (138)

I've looked at different charts to see what is a healthy weight for my height but I'm getting different numbers! I think the lowest I've ever weighed was 135 (in my adult life). I might be wrong though. That's what I have for now though. I don't think it's too unrealistic seeing how I've read to expect to lose 1-2 pounds a week. I've scaled it at 2 pounds a week. I know I might have week that I only lose 1 or weeks that I'll lose more than 2, but at least I've got my goals written down now:)

Day 6!

I know that I'm not suppose to really weigh until the day of the week I actually started WW, but I think I'm going to change my day to Sunday. Reason being (depending on how you see it) it's the end of the week or the beginning of the week. I figure its a good day to weigh.

It was a very good morning for me. I stepped on the scale to see 223.2. Which means I've lost 5 pounds this week:) I know that I'm not going to lose 5 pounds every week, and might even have weeks that I gain weight. I was just so excited when I saw that this morning.

Another thing I'm totally loving is my 7 year old asking me every night if we can go on a walk again tomorrow night. That's totally awesome to me! I love it!

I've walked 6.17 miles this week! I didn't even get to walk every day due to rain and time. I've got to get to the gym on the days it rains. I've just got to figure out when I can do that.

Another problem I'm having is not eating enough points during the day, then (like last night) I get to dinner with 20 points left to eat! I need to balance my points a little better. That and try to eat dinner earlier. Last night I didn't eat dinner unitl 8 because I wanted to go walking before dinner. Threw everything off.

Day 5

I've got most of my states filled up for my "walk around the US". I think the rest I'll just have the kids pick at random.
I'm starting with Iowa (which was the first state picked by friends). I'm walking the length of Iowa towards Florida (second state picked). The length of Iowa is 199 miles. Iowa is 199 miles in length and 310 miles in width. Iowa became the 29th state December 28, 1846, the state bird is an Eastern Goldenfinch, state flower is a Wild Rose, state tree is Oak, it's nickname is The Hawkeye State, and the capital is Des Moines!

Since I haven't "walked" too far into the state that's all I'll give you for now:)

I took yesterday off. I had made plans to meet a friend for ice cream with the kids and decided that I'm going to need a day off every once in awhile. I know myself and if I don't take a day off once in awhile I'm going to fail at this. I also know that the next day I've got to get right back on the wagon or this isn't going to work. Staying off the wagon is how I got into this shape.

Did a bunch of errands and running around yesterday. Didn't keep track of any of the walking though. The little girls have already asked me if they can go walking with me today. This makes me happy and pushes me to keep going. They are part of the reason I'm doing this in the first place!

Right now I'm walking a little over a mile each night. Although today I've got a lot of cleaning and gardening to do, so I'm going to be counting the walking I do in doing those things on my miles today. I figure I'm burning calories while doing these things so why not count the miles I'm putting in.

Fun with Fitness

I've come up with a plan! I'm going to walk/bike ride the United States! Yup, you read that correctly. I've decided that I'm going to walk/bike ride off this weight. I mean I'll do other things as well, but those two are easy to track the miles on. While "walking/biking" each state my oldest daughter Bella (who is homeschooled) will look up facts about each state, as well as things to see in each state. I figure what an awesome way for her to learn more about the United States. Not to mention I'll learn things along the way as well.

I've asked my Facebook friends to please pick states so I have a starting point. I'm going to either walk the states length wise or width wise, depending on which state I will be "visiting" next.

So starting tonight I will begin a journey from Iowa (length wise) to Florida! So I have 199 miles to complete the state of Iowa. Funny that was the state that was picked first because that's where I was born. A journey begins were my journey of life began with my birth! The person who picked Iowa has no idea that's where I was born.

I will of course post updates as to how far I've walked/biked, and interesting things I've learned along the way.

The Before Picture

Well here are the two before pictures. Not pretty and feeling pretty crappy about them, but I figure since I'm being honest with myself I should put them on my blog. I want to take pictures of every 10 pounds I lose. Here goes nothing! Me at 228.2 pounds!

While I'm being honest I also broke out the measuring tape today. It was a dreaded moment for me. I hate measuring myself because I'm scared of not doing it right. I used body land marks so to speak. I've decided to only measure myself once a month. Seems like before when I was working with a trainer that is how we did it. Here are my measurements.

Bust=43 inches (which is where I'm sure I'll lose it first)

Chest-38

Waist=44 (one of the last places it will leave)

Hips=52 1/2 (Not sure if I measured right there. Also one of the last places it will leave)

Thighs= R=26 L=25

Calves=R=18 L=17

Upper arm= R=15 L=15 1/4

Last night I went to Walmart and found a GREAT deal on some exercise stuff. I wanted an exercise ball because before I used that for wall squats and ab work. Anyway, I found a fix that had the exercise ball, hand pump, light resistance band, medium resistance band, 2 2lb soft weight balls, workout guide and DVD. It was marked down to $17 but rang up for $7. Sweet the ball alone was $8.97. I got an awesome deal! I'm all about some deals!

I also got some fruit (yay fruit), Smart One's meals (for lunch & 2 breakfast ones), WW ice cream, 2% cheese, WW cheese sticks, and some flat bread things.

Today is going well so far, but I just had 3 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts brought to the house. WHY??? You ask. Before I decided to do WW I ordered them to support a friends youth group. I'm not going to be able to pass on these. I already know seeing how they are one of favorite, but rare treats! It's so bad that the points are not anywhere in the WW books. I've looked to be good and check the points to count them.

It's slow going, but I figure Rome wasn't built in a day, and I didn't put this weight on in a day. It took awhile to put the weight on, and it's going to take even longer to take it off.

Well

Well that didn't go as planned! I planned to start walking everyday. That didn't happen and I'm back here restarting. Not only am I starting over, but I'm starting over 2 pounds heavier than before:(

This time I spent the money on the new Weight Watchers program. Now I'll feel really awful if I don't do it, because I spent money on it.

Today is day one of me on the new Weight Watchers program! Finding out my everyday cup of coffee is 4 points was not a good way to start off my day. Of course neither was stepping on the scale to find out I've gained 2 pounds.

I've got to start finding the time to get exercise into each day! Being this over weight is driving me nuts!
